Join us for this special two-day event led by Kristi Day! We will be planning out our designs, cutting glass, laying tiles, and finishing off by grouting our mosaic trays. Like a lot of great things, creating mosaics takes time and a bit of patience – almost like a mediative form of art. Mosaics dates back at least 4,000 years, it is thought to have originated in Mesopotamia, and we still enjoy this beautiful and functional art form today.
To accommodate people's different working paces, this class will be held over two days, with an optional third day to come back and grout your piece.
Wednesday, March 6th / 5:30 - 8:30 pm
AND
Thursday, March 7th / 5:30 - 8:30 pm
OPTIONAL
Friday, March 8th / 12:00 - 2:00 pm (grouting only)
To clarify – if you finish your mosaic on day one (Wednesday March 6th) you can grout on day two (Thursday March 7th). If you need more time to glue your pieces down and want to use Thursday's class for that, you will need to come back on Friday March 8th to grout your piece OR bring grout and instructions home to do it there. Just be aware that this is a messy process and you cannot flush the grout or grout water down the drain, it will clog.
In this class, MAC will provide:
– All supplies needed to create a mosaic tray
– Wine, Beer, and La Croix
– A totally fun time!
The Art+Wine program is sponsored by:
