MAC Student Spotlight: Ember, Student at Lee Vining Elementary School

This month, we are pleased to feature Ember for our Student Spotlight! Our Teaching Artist and Visual Arts Program Coordinator, Kristi, interviewed her about her experience with MAC. Here's what she had to say:

Why do you love the arts?

Because I like being creative.

What is a favorite piece of art you have created or a favorite time in performing arts?

A coloring page from a coloring book I have. It's of forest owlets. The coloring book is called "Fragile world" and I like it because it’s about a bunch of animals that are endangered and it shows how to save and preserve them.

What would you say to a friend to get them interested in the arts?

It’s a good way to relieve stress and have fun with being creative.

Why are the arts so important right now, in the world we live in?

A lot of people are looking for something to do to help them in therapy. For me, coloring and arts are therapeutic.
