Genelle Gregorio has taken photographs all around the world, always keen to chase a new adventure and explore the next country. After backpacking for 3 years around Asia, her next adventure landed her in Mammoth for "a ski season". 8 years later, she's traveled and lived for stents in places ranging from San Francisco to Whistler to Australia, but with its perfect mix of beauty and constant adventure, Mammoth has come to hold the beloved and elusive title of "Home".
Every artist in the Mono Arts Council Gallery + Art Center is invited to show their art because they are either a resident of the Eastern Sierra or have strong ties to the community. We support both emerging and experienced artists in our space and 50% of all proceeds go directly to the artist while the other 50% goes to support arts education right here in Mono County.
16" x 40" Photograph on Canvas.
Note from Artist: Fall folds over the Eastern Sierra landscape of fallen leaves, as the last light of summer shines behind golden leaves in the small community of Aspendell, situated 14 miles southwest of Bishop. In many places, autumn means the end of summer and being outdoors, but in these mountains, the end of one lovely season is only the beginning of another adventure, and winter activities are just around the corner. For anyone who wants their life to be full of adventure, what a perfect place to put down roots for their home.
