Artist BioEvery artist in the Mono Arts Council Gallery & Art Center is invited to show their art because they are either a resident of the Eastern Sierra or have strong ties to the community. We support both emerging and experienced artists in our space and 50% of all proceeds go directly to the artist while the other 50% goes to support arts education right here in Mono County.
Product DescriptionSteel, 1/4"x1". Note from Artist: In art-world terms, this is an exploration of positive and negative spaces. We have a happy moon face, executed in 1/4" steel plate, filling the positive space in this work. In sort of a symbiotic addition, the edges of the moon face also form the top of the coyote's head, showing it as a negative-space outline. It is a fun and fulfilling exercise for me to design works like this, which combine aspects of different images into complementary juxtaposition. The coyote is made from 1/4" x 1" steel bar.
