Moon on the Mountain
Beverly Maders is a retired administrative secretary from an Arizona Fire Department, since 1995. Bev and her husband have four children who have given the them six grandchildren. They have been in June Lake for about 4 years. Art has always been a part of Bev’s life, and living here has enhanced her desire to paint. She entered three paintings in our Arizona county fair years ago and took a ribbon for each one. She attended community college in Arizona for four years to learn and just enjoy the "wet on wet" style of oil painting perfected by Bob Ross.
Every artist in the Mono Arts Council Gallery & Art Center is invited to show their art because they are either a resident of the Eastern Sierra or have strong ties to the community.
We support both emerging and experienced artists in our space and 50% of all proceeds go directly to the artist while the other 50% goes to support arts education right here in Mono County.
Acrylic on canvas, 12x16.
Note from Artist: This piece is from a photograph my husband took on his way to work (Hwy. 395 between June Lake and Lee Vining) early one morning in February 2018. The colors were so intense and it's such a simple, beautiful scene, and it looks like the mountains are holding up the moon.
