About the Event
In this unique workshop, you will learn how to connect with nature and fire up your creativity as we take a walk outdoors. You will be guided to slow down, engage your senses, develop awareness, and learn to observe the nuances in nature.
We will use the simplest tool that’s always with you to capture nature’s details and beauty—the camera in your smartphone. You will learn how to enhance your vision and craft creative, expressive images using your phone. As we wander through the beauty of Mammoth Lakes taking photos, you will feel the dual restorative powers of nature and creativity.
Photography is a powerful form of creative visual expression and is a simple form of mindfulness similar to meditation. Photography requires attention, awareness, and concentration so it can put you in a more present and calm state where you can fully see, feel, and interact with the world in a more engaging manner.
In this fun, creative nature-based journey, you will learn some basic camera operations and features, composition, and visual ideas and learn simple editing techniques to help you create your own unique artistic creations. You’ll leave with a beautiful print to showcase your work and a renewed sense of joy, inspiration, and connection.
