Join us for an evening of weaving beautiful textile art on an 8" embroidery hoops, using gorgeous fibers and learn different weaving techniques.

INTRO TO ROUND WEAVING

In this 3 hour workshop, students will learn the essentials of modern round weaving by creating a weaving on an 8-inch embroidery hoop. I will guide you through basic round weaving techniques using a variety of colorful and textured fibers to create your fiber art piece. Check out my Instagram for inspiration and design ideas! You will learn these basic round weaving techniques:

~How to pick out your color palette and fibers

~Tabby Stitch

~Soumak

~Roving Bubbling

~Rya Knots

~Lark's Head Knot

~Cleaning Up Fiber Ends and Finishing



Workshop materials provided:

~8-inch Embroidery Hoop

~Embroidery Needle

~Many different colorful and textured fibers to choose from!

~If you do not finish your weaving during the workshop, you will be able to take some fibers home with you to finish your creation!



This Workshop is suitable for beginner and experienced weavers, ages 10 and up.



Since this workshop is 3 hours in length, please bring some snacks and beverages to keep you fueled and hydrated! & bring your readers if you use and need them:)

Friends of the Arts - $150

Friends of the Arts is our donor level for all patron and arts supporters. We need 250 Friends of the Arts for our after school programs, community outreach, and gallery maintenance.

Our Patrons donor level helps provide foundational funding for our student Scholarship program and our Summer Art Camp. We need 25 Patrons.

Dreammakers - $2,500 to $5,000

The Dreammakers donor level will help launch our Music Program and provide continued support for our new Digital Arts program. $50,000 annually.
