Summer is HERE and our arts camps are in FULL swing! We have been having so much fun creating new works of art - both here in the MAC Gallery & Community Arts Center - as well as out and about, around town with our Art + Nature camps. This month, we talked to one of our Arts Alive! campers about why she is excited about coming to camp at MAC.

Why do you love art?
I love art because you can make whatever you want in every way - and everything is art!
Do you have a favorite piece of art you have created?
My favorite piece that I made is a rainbow - I drew it on both sides of the paper, and then I rolled it up and it made a rainbow roll. I love rainbows because I am the rainbow baby (the middle child)!
What would you say to a friend to get them interested in art?
I would say with art, you can make anything! I would also say God made you with art!
Do you think art is important? Why?
I do think it’s important, because it made the whole world.
What do you love to create the most?
When I grow up, I want to have a job in art where I make the art and sell it!
Is there anything else we should know?
I do lots of art at home. When I come home from school, I go straight to do art because I love it so much. I also sometimes tap dance!
