Please give a warm welcome to the latest addition to the MAC Gallery Staff, Jenn! If you've been in the Gallery within the last two months, you've certainly encountered Jenn and her enthusiasm for Mono Arts Council. Let's learn a little bit about Jenn here:
1. What is your connection to the arts? Are you an artist yourself or do you have a particular interest in the arts?
I am not an artist by trade. I knew I wanted to be an artist in kindergarten, because of all of the creativity that was offered/taught. I still paint and color like a kindergartner, as an adult. It is all good.
2. What is your favorite art medium and why is it your favorite?
Watercolors, writing, and dance because they are my favorite ways of expressing myself.
3. If you could learn any arts medium, what would it be? Why?
Writing. That is where my talent is.
4. What is your favorite part of your job as MAC Gallery Associate?
Everything. Meeting the artist, displaying it in our gallery, and especially, selling a piece of their art/heart.
5. Why do you think the arts are so important right now? The arts are so important in grades K to 12. Same as music. Funding has been reduced, or eliminated because of budget cuts. Thank goodness for non-profits like Mono Arts Council stepping up.
