This month we are proud to feature Will, a Junior at Jan Work Community School! Most recently, Will and his classmates completed a lesson on makeup artistry and design. Here are Will's thoughts about the arts:
Why do you love the arts?
I like the arts because it’s a way for me to express myself - what I feel and what I see.
What is a favorite piece of art you have created or a favorite time in performing arts?
My favorite piece is the watercolor pencil trees we created with teaching artist Kristi. It’s the only time I’ve really tried hard. I had more patience with that one.
What would you say to a friend to get them interested in the arts?
Art is a way to express yourself and it can help you destress in so many ways.
Why are the arts so important?
My opinion is that arts are important because it can teach so many different stories from races and stereotypes.
