MAC Summer Camper Spotlight: Cassia

This month, we are pleased to feature Cassia for our Summer Camper Spotlight! Cassia attended Art + Nature Camp in partnership with Mono Lake Committee. Here's what she had to say:

Why do you love art?

I like making funny paintings and putting paint on paper and scrubbing it with a toothbrush! I love painting with my friends and making leaf prints.

What was your favorite part of each of the summer camps you attended?

I liked acting out being a monkey because I’m actually a monkey. And I liked “My Name is Joe” and “Donut Shop” because they were so fun to learn!

My favorite part of Mono Lake art camp was catching brine shrimp and canoeing and playing in the mud at Lundy Lake. And walking down the boardwalk.

What is a favorite piece of art you have created or your favorite arts experience?

I loved making the sun prints. It was fun choosing what to do with Ava and using our hands and paint bottles to make the sun print.

What would you say to a friend to get them interested in the arts?

It’s really fun to find ginormous Mule Ears and make leaf prints. It’s super duper fun making art and you get to play in the mud. It’s really fun to act out stuff and perform the play—it’s super duper cooper fun at camp.
