Urenio is a 1st grader at Lee Vining Elementary School! He talked to us after his MAC music class this month about what kinds of art he loves, both at home and when he's at school. Read on to hear more about Urenio and why he loves art!
What is your favorite kind of art?
I love all of it!
Why do you love art?
Because we can make things for ourselves or for our moms. I like to sing!
What's your favorite song? Do you sing at home?
I like grown up songs like in English and Spanish that I hear on the radio.
We sing a song game in my family that tells me how to not get lost - and there’s a game called My Singing Monsters that I like.
I also like dancing because you can move around and around.
Do you have a favorite piece of art you have created?
I made a baby shark out of clay. He was blue.
What would you say to a friend to get them interested in art or music?
Because you can make things - like whatever you want. You can make gifts for people of your art.
Why is art so important right now?
I think art is important because it’s fun and makes people happy.
